I have simple question about how to install mongodb into my computer. I am working on laser_slam and I installed svn. When I run the code below,

$ roslaunch laser_slam laser_slam.launch

there was error, So I just started installing mongodb first. If you know how to install mongodb, please teach me :) Thank you

Hi, all

Regarding people detection(ppl_detection), I have an error. When I run the code below

$ rosrun ppl_detection kinect_detect

[rosrun] Couldn't find executable named kinect_detect below home/jkim/ros_workspace/ppl_detection

I followed the procedure introduced in the website. I modified launch/kinect.launch, then typed

$ roslaunch ppl_detection kinect.launch

I seemed to work showing rviz screen, but when I put this command

$ rosrun ppl_detection kinect_detect

error occurs. please help. Thank you

Hi, friends

I am having problem with slam_gmapping with hokuyo. I am doing basic step. I just finished installing laser drivers and gmapping pakages. Then, I just type "rosrun gmapping slam_gmapping scan:=base_scan ". and then, it seems like working but it doesn't display any result. Please help me how to do gmapping with Hokuyo. thanks.

Is there a certain reason you're trying to build it yourself ? Following 3.1 works good enough for me;

sudo apt-get install ros-electric-openni-kinect

Remember its either 3.1 or 3.2, it is not necessary to do both.

Thank you so much. I did as you mentioned. It worked. I really appreciate that. I have another question. RVIZ screen shows only black and white colors. Is there any way to get RGB with depth and how can I see 3D pictures. Thanks.

Hello. I am new to ROS/Ubuntu and hoping someone could shed some light into my problem.

My main problem is that I cannot see any result of depth and RGB from Kinect, even though I installed following instructions introduced from http://www.ros.org/wiki/kinect.

Below is what I have done so far:

  1. I have installed openni_kinect (electric); "sudo apt-get install ros-electric-openni-kinect "
  2. unplug and plug in the Kinect.
  3. type command "roslaunch openni_launch openni.launch."

    ** result image shown:link image

    As you can see from the image description, it seems the above command has registered kinetic

  4. when I run "rosrun rviz rviz", it does not show anything except black screen so far. Is there anything specific I should be doing to RVIZ to get the kinetic camera to capture?

Hi,

I got problem on installing with procedure of openni_kinect (www.ros.org/wiki/openni_kinect).

Regarding 3.2 Sourse based installation (electiric), I cannot do " make and make install" and "make debian and sudo dpkg -i *.deb". I wonder if I could have answer. Thank you.
