I think to solve Menglords problem you just need to use the command "killall gzserver", it might be happening because Gazebo is not closing correctly so one way to deal with that is using the above command.

Hey @sep300 , I am having the same problem as the person asking the question is. I used the two commands you mentioned and found the problem still there. What I realzied was that those two commands update Gazebo not just the ros gazebo pckgs , and it updates Gazebo to 2.2.1. What version do u have?

Hey Markus, unfortunately I have not found a solution and continue to use a standard text editor to write my code. If I do come up with a solution I will get back to you.

I created my ROS package using catkin_create_pkg instead of roscreate_pkg. The project is located in the catkin_ws which is in the home directory. I am using ROS Hydro as well. I still do not know where the problem lies.

Hey mozcelikors I am using ROS Hydro and trying to import a ROS package into Eclipse Kepler. When I get to the step using "make eclipse-project" I keep getting this error make: *** No rule to make target `eclipse-project'. Stop. Do you know why this happens? I would appreciate any tips. Thanks Mike

Could you elaborate a little bit more about this? I also had the same problem and once I checked the "allow approximate IK solution" my RVIZ simulation worked fine. But are you saying that this option is not the correct way of controlling the RVIZ arm? Also what did you mean by "set the position_only_ik: True in kinematics.yaml file"? I looked through my .yaml file and did not see parameter like the one you mentioned. Any help would greatly be appreciated. mfran89 (24 mins ago)

2014-01-08 01:37:06 -0500 commented answer Moveit: Interactive markers missing

In the tutorial that I pointed out in my original question, step 8 asks to label the end effectors. I took this as defining the end effectors. So my problem still exists after the fact that I have defined my end effectors. Thank you for your suggestion.

2014-01-07 09:10:09 -0500 asked a question Moveit: Interactive markers missing

I am fairly new to the using Moveit (as well as ROS overall), and did the tutorial on using the setup assistant for moveit. moveit.ros.org/wiki/PR2/Setup_Assistant/Quick_Start.

After successfully creating the package at the end, I then went on to run the demo.launch file that was created after creating moveit package. RVIZ came up successfully with the PR2 robot model showing. However I am unable to use the interactive markers to control the planning groups because there are no interactive markers showing. Can anyone help me understand why the interactive markers are missing?
