Replacing default ffmpeg (libavtools) with real ffmpeg from

Hi. I am using ffmpeg to handle and stream video from my robot. The things I'm doing were impossible to achieve with default ffmpeg (the one made by libav developers) installed together with ROS. Is there possibility to simply replace it with the ffmpeg (made by ffmpeg developers -> compiled from source?

My robot runs on Ubuntu 12.04 and ROS Hydro
