Annotation in robot_self_filter commented out? [closed]

Is there a particular reason why the annotation functionality (reading the annotation channel name parameter etc.) in robot_self_filter is commented out in the binary packages of the fuerte and groovy repositories as well as in the recent source version?

Current package source on kforge and the self_see_filter.h I guess he means.
