localization method

Hello,

I'm using hector_slam package and i want to make localization but using kinect I was about to use Amcl, but I know it depends on the Calibrate Odometry and Gyro..Unfortunately I do not have Power and Sensor Board in my irobot create

If you dont have odomtery reading .. try looking into VSLAM or RGBD slam. They might not require odometry readings. It is based in vision. I havent used any of it but it might work so look into it.

The commonly used one is amcl.

AFAIK hector_slam doesn't support localization, yet. Only SLAM.

Can I use amcl without having Power and Sensor Board ?

I needs odometry from somewhere. If you really need localization instead of SLAM you could abuse hector_slam and interpret it's slam pose output as the odometry.
