I just installed Gazebo 1.0.1 using the 32bit deb package onto a 32bit installation of Ubuntu 12.04. I followed the instructions here and created the appropriate script, etc. When I try to run gazebo I get the following error. echo $GAZEBO_RESOURCE_PATH does return the appropriate string, so the system variable is being created correctly. Does anyone know how to make this work?

Dbg gazeboPaths is empty and GAZEBO_RESOURCE_PATH doesn't exist. Set GAZEBO_RESOURCE_PATH to gazebo's installation path. ...or are you using SystemPlugins?
Error [SystemPaths.cc:229] cannot load file [worlds/empty.world]in GAZEBO_RESOURCE_PATH
Error [Server.cc:156] Could not open file[worlds/empty.world]
