How to use velodyne VLP-16 with ros2 iron

Hello, I am new to ROS and I am trying to visualize the point cloud data of a velodyne VLP-16 lidar. I am currently on Ubuntu 22.04.2 and running ros2 iron. I am following the instructions from http://wiki.ros.org/velodyne/Tutorials/Getting%20Started%20with%20the%20Velodyne%20VLP16 but this page seems to be using ros indigo. I start running into issues when I have to run the catkin_make command

Please if anyone knows how to resolve this issue I would really appreciate it.
