180 degrees mapping with rplidar a1

hi guys, I Couldn't find data online so I'm asking here.

is it possible to scan only 180 degrees with rplidar a1?

I want to place the lidar at the bottom of my robot so that the back side of the sensors is blocked constantly.

I'm using hector slam to map and navigate.

As @ravijoshi has written you can use the laser filter the tutorial will help you how to use it.
