Robotic arm with dynamic tool with collision protection

i am running ros with robotic arm.
The robotic arm consists of 6 joints and 3 tools.
I want to change tool dynamically.
with collision protection.

What would you recommend for this?

-addcollisionobject?
-combine 2 urdf files?
-pick&place?
-or another way?
