Checking goal status from an action client [closed]

I am using ROS Melodic on Ubuntu 18.04. I want to track the status of a goal from my action client. It looks like there is a state machine associated with each goal but I can't seem to figure out how to get a goal handle and how to access the status of the goal from the goal handle. Could someone please point me to an example on how to do this?
