How to subscribe custom ROS topic using python(no ros packet, just one single python file)?
I modified an previous project written in python and it is subscribed to two ROS topic. Now I want to publish my own custom message. I wonder if there is anyway that I do not need to create a complete ROS package and use one or multiple files to publish a custom ROS message?
you can write a script that executes terminal commands, and then just execute the 'rostopic pub ..' command. (But just writing a node that publishes custom messages isn't that much work, and a good practise)
I need to publish custom topics with calculated value using python. I dont think rostopic pub would be good to publish my data
I agree, it wouldn't be a good idea, but it's the answer to your question, it will work. If you want a nice solution then just write a node...
