Multimaster master_sync ignore_nodes not working

I have a multimaster system. I run node FOO on two separate systems which are sync'd via multimaster. I add FOO to ignore_nodes when starting master_sync on both systems. But I end up getting messages sync'd on /FOO/BAR topic. /FOO/BAR is published by /FOO node.

From my understanding of the API it should be not syncing any topics from FOO - but it is.

The workaround is to add /FOO/BAR to ignore_topics - but i'd like to understand if its a bug or i'm misunderstanding the API.
