Upgrading turtlebot3 with larger 24v 48v servomotor

Why larger motor with turtlebot3? Because it's fun. With more larger motor, It can transport heavy items, move people, be more useful. I believe this will also bring more value to existing turtlebot3 .

My question is, is there any tutorial about upgrading turtlebot3 motor? How to get motor such as GYEMS RMD-X8 or Feetech SM120BL worked similar to Dynamixel XL-430? Can any servo motor with TTL replace XL-430?

you can upgrade.

then you may need a new battery. if you chose the GYEMS you need a can dongel (pcan for example) or an beaglebone black with can cape.

and you can to implement the can driver for the motor. did not find out if it speeks canopen or layer 2 can.

you may need an other battery also.

and you may need a new frame if the load gets to heavy for your desireld load and the wafer to not handle it any more.

so you may ends with a new robot and the electronic of the turtelbot.

so it would be easer to build a new one and leaf the turtel bot as it is.

then you have two bots for multi robot stuf.

Do you know how to make non-dynamixel TTL wheel servo work with Turtlebot3?

The firmware for the opencr is open source so you can replace the code from the dynamixel to you protokoll
