How to update the already generated map when the world changes?

Hi, I wanted to know, if there is some way to update the already generated map using Gmapping. I made some changes to the world file, now the only thing I know is to again use the Gmapping and save the newly generated map. Can please tell me, if there is any other easy way to update the map.

You can try saving the global costmap

there is no way to update. regenerate or use gimp to modify it..

Ok, thank you I think that regenerating is the best way.
