Change laserscan colors dependent on distance

Hello everybody,

when I visualize a laser scan in rviz, every scan (every point) is in the same color. How can I change the color dependent on the distance measured, pretty much as in this package here?

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with ROS Kinetic.

Hi @cheesee61,

You can change the LaserScann display on Rviz in the property Color tranformer, setting the value to AxisColor.

Just remember to change the Axis too.
