ROS2 : grid_map, jsk_rviz_plugins packages are missing

Hi,

When I am trying to convert my ROS1 code into ROS2(dashing), packages grid_map, jsk_recognition_msgs and jsk_rviz_plugins are missing in ROS2 package list. And I have a high dependency on these packages.

Are any alternative packages available with the same functionality or those are permanently removed in ROS2?

those are permanently removed in ROS2?

they're not removed, but no one has made the effort to port (or "upgrade") them to support RVIZ 2 in ROS 2.

And I'm sure the maintainers of these projects would be very open if you were to help in porting this work to ROS2.

I'm not sure who converted my comment to an answer. I didn't post it as an answer, as it's not. The OP is curious whether anyone could suggest alternatives to the plugins he mentions.

I wouldn't know, so I did not post an answer.

The only thing I wanted to point out is that these plugins have not been removed, but are simply not available as they have not been ported yet.
