Which is the stable ROS version for beginners as of 2020?

As a beginner, I am confused between kinetic and melodic versions of ROS to completely get a glimpse of this technology. So, as of 2020, I would like to know whether Melodic completely developed or not.

Melodic is the current stable release and recommended for new installations. Many existing installations out there are still on kinetic - but slowly decreasing: https://metrics.ros.org/packages_rosdistro.html
