How to use ROS2 with Arduino

My ROS1-based mobile robot currently uses multiple instances of the rosserialpython serialnode.py node to communicate with several onboard Arduino that publish ROS messages. I'd like to move to ROS2. How does ROS2 communicate with Arduino?
