How can I create a map?

I have written a graph slam that tracks the robot's position based on the Bayes algorithm and factor graphs but how can I create a map for the map_server and costmap2d? I can supply depth images.

You will probably have to build gmapping from source since the navigation has not been release in melodic. For more: http://answers.ros.org/question/29617...

How gmapping is related to what I am asking? I do not want to create a SLAM algorithm like gmapping, I just want to display map
