I've reloaded Ubuntu 18.04.2 amd64 twice already trying to install ROS Melodic. Normally it is a smooth process. Have loaded Melodic a few times before. This time, as before, I Setup your sources.list, next Set up your keys, and next step, Installation sudo apt update, and then BOOM. I have gotten the following message two times with each fresh install of 18.04.2, each time after a new install of 18.04.2:

Reading package lists... Done
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/

Both times failed on bran new Bionic Beaver platform. I always load ROS before I continue downloading other software. No more Melodic? No more ROS? Load a newer ROS? on 18.04.2?

Could I ask you to please add a few new-lines to your question text? Right now it's a block-of-text that is rather difficult to read.

This may not be what you are looking for, but seeing as this is an apt error message, it doesn't appear to be a ROS-related problem. I would suggest to ask this question on a more appropriate forum, such as Ask Ubuntu. A quick google with the error Resource temporarily unavailable and apt returns quite a few results. You may want to check some of those.

I've closed this question for now, as it would appear to be off-topic for this site. If/when you get confirmed (on Ask Ubuntu fi) that this is a problem with ROS or the way we recommend you configure apt, then we can re-open.
