STDR simulator without ROS?

Is it possible to compile or install STDR simulator without ROS?

This is a rather specific issue, so I expect you'll have a higher chance of getting answers asking the developers themselves on their issue tracker.

No, don't email them. That is even listed under the Do Not section of the support guidelines. Simply post an issue on their tracker. I already linked it in my earlier comment.

STDR uses ROS topics, services and parameters for core parts of the simulation environment. I do not think you will be able to use it outside of ROS.

If you're looking for a 2D simulator that doesn't need ROS, I suggest you look at Stage.
