USB joystick for Windows Subsystem for Linux?
Hello all,
I am using Windows Subsystem for Linux(WSL) to use ROS for a graduate course, and I need to use a usb joystick for the joy tutorial. However, when I plug in the joystick to my computer it doesn't show on /dev/. The joystick uses Windows' xusb22.sys driver, and it's showing that it's connected to Port#0001.Hub#0001. How can I access this joystick usb data through WSL?

This seems like a question about whether WSL supports joysticks. I don't think ROS has much to do with it. You'll probably find better results if you ask on Stack Overflow or if you can find a dedicated forum or support site for WSL.

I agree with @ahendrix and closed this, as it's about WSL and hw access, not about ROS.
@minsung0320: please use a more appropriate support channel for your question, such as MS user voice or the issue tracker for the WSL project.
Afaik, hw access to devices from WSL is fairly limited right now.

If you want to ask Windows and ROS specific questions - specifically ones that are not appropriate for ROS answers, please pose to https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Robotics/bd-p/Robotics. Although, we'd recommend Melodic on Windows native over WSL for hardware access.

@OoeyGUI: personally I would say questions about ROS on Windows are perfectly welcome here. And I would rather not fragment the community even more (ROS Answers, Discourse, IRC, Slack, StackOverflow, now MS TechCommunity).
