# rospack error kinetic

Hello ROS people,

I am trying to create a package in the src directory of my workspace rover_ws. I have followed all the steps given on roswiki, inorder to create a new package. 1) catkin_create_pkg 2) catkin_make in rover_ws 3) sourcing the devel/setup.bash file.

Still I am getting the error when I try to rospack find <package_name>.

I am more confused as there is an other package called "hello_world" in the workspace rover_ws and when I am trying the command rospack find hello_world, it works. Not sure, where I am going wrong. Can someone please help me with this.

Double-check that the <name> tag in the package.xml matches the project() call in CMakeLists.txt, and that there are no strange characters or spaces around the name. Also note rospack uses a cache, that is supposed to be automatically re-built. However, I've sometimes had issues with...
... it getting re-built. You can force a re-build with rospack profile . For me, this often fixes issues when I can't find recently-added packages. Read more: http://docs.ros.org/independent/api/r...
