ROS on Windows: Subsystem for Linux, ROS 2 or ROS with Docker on Windows

Hello everyone,

I would like to know what is currently the best option to run ROS on Windows? I believe it is possible to install ROS through the Windows 10 Subsystem for Linux and through Docker or installing ROS 2 which is already supported by Win10.

Does anyone has an idea of what is the best path to follow? I would like to hear from your experiences before defining how should I proceed.

Thank you all for the support!

Both WSL and Docker are viable options to install ROS on Windows. We publish some docker images here and documented the WSL install here (but it's basically the same as the Linux install right now).
