How to control a generic servo motor

Hello, I am Beginner I am trying to control a custom(hobby arm) arm and I am using MG995 servos, the books that I am following only have tutorials about some common Dynamixel motors, I just want to know how can I control these generic motor? And please if someone could help me understand how do I make nodes and use different things to make this thing work. I am using arduino now, will it be a good option to switch to raspberry pi ? thanks for all the help.
