Since they have discontinued producing the kinect 360, what other alternatives do I have. I would like to build a robot similar to the turtlebot so I'm looking for a sensor with similar capabilities (ideally as cheap as possible).

Although this is a robotics-related question this isn't a ROS -related question so I closed it. With (as of right now) over 38,000 questions we try to keep the questions focused on ROS. You may want to try asking on a more general site such as https://robotics.stackexchange.com/

I agree with @jayess. Btw, this is a critical subject for many people, and if rephrased something like "ROS-compatible RGBD camera alternative", that could've been suitable here. This list from ROS-industrial is very helpful although getting a bit outdated.

This might be more of a discussion topic than something that can really be answered: "cheap" and "good enough" are relative metrics and so there is no single 'best' answer.

@OwnageManFromLOL: perhaps posting on ROS Discourse would be better.
