Hello, I'm using Delphi ESR radar 9.21.21 and Kvaser Leaf Light HS v2 CAN with ROS. The company (autonomoustuff) has newly developed drivers for Linux and ROS Packages. But We are having problems in that data which we are getting using those packages. The ESR can give data values for up to 64 moving objects. When we are using ESR on ROS, we are only getting data values at Id0. The data values at other ids are default values.

The ESR is working properly because I have used it on windows and visualized the data using "DV_DATAVIEW" Tool. There we are getting data values for all the moving objects which are there on the road.

If anyone has used the same Radar (Delphi_ESR_9.21.91), please help me. If you know any other way to use it, let me know. Even if you know that How we can decode the message data which we are getting on CAN (kvaser leaf light) for ESR, please contact me. We are planning to use our own hardware also.

I've removed your email address as the whole idea of ROS Answers is to solve problems with the community. Not to get users to send you private emails.

I have encountered the same problem. After we check the sensor status, we find that the sensor is not radiating. So we guess that we failed to send the data the sensor needed. But…… we have not find out why the data cant be sent correctly, if you have solve the problem, please contact me.

I never worked with such a radar, but I'm confident that:

  • ID0 indicates an error frame,
  • your sensor does function as the Windows program returns values!

How did you set the bitrate to read the CAN communication on the BUS? You might need to

  • figure out the set bitrate in the Windows program,
  • check the manual of the radar,
  • contact the manufacturer.
