Where on the kinect does camera_link refer to?

I have my kinect setup on my robot using openni and gmapping. Everything is working but I am now going through and measuring/reading from CAD all of my dimensions to publish to tf.

But where on the kinect does camera_link refer to? Is it the base, is it the front of the sensor window, the sensor itself?
