Lidar extrinsic calibration

Is there any standard methods of doing that? I need an accurate estimate of the transforms between base_link and the lidars on my robot. I am trying to code something using numerical optimization and some geometrical features and wanted to now what already exists out there. I am not looking for camera-lidar calibration.
