3D Navigation, how to get started?

Hi guys,

I have a custom differential drive robot and I have already implemented 2d Navigation stack on it. Now I am trying to implement 3d_navigation which is more compatible with my application. The problem is that I couldn't find a nice documentation for this stack like what is available for 2d Navigation. Any ideas how should I start? If you have already discovered some tutorials and examples on this package I would really appreciate the links ...
