rosdep installation via pip behind proxy

$ sudo pip install -U rosdep

Cannot fetch index base URL https://pypi.python.org/simple/ Could not find any downloads that satisfy the requirement rosdep in /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages Downloading/unpacking rosdep Cleaning up... That looks like a failure of pypi. Probably a hiccup. I suggest you try again.

Manually browsing the problem url https://pypi.python.org/simple/ gives content for me at the moment.

Edit:

Noticing your other question I'm guessing pip is failing due to the proxy. And you already have the version from apt, so you shouldn't install the pip version anyway.

You'll need to get rosdep setup to use your proxy correctly.

it has many options like 0-._.-._.-._.-._.-._.-._.-0, 02exercicio, 0x10c-asm, 11, 115wangpan, 131228_pytest_1, 1337, 17MonIP, 18-e, 1ee, 1pass, 1to001, 2 and etc
