I am a beginner of ROS. I do not know how to install the package of topological_navigation in Fuerte version. I do according to the instruction in website of wiki.ros.org/topological_navigation. But I failed

It was a long time ago, but did you finally manage to integrate GMapping with some topological tool? I am especially looking toward topological navigation. It does not seem to be well developped at the moment,

Unless you provide some more information, for example your setup, the commands you tried, what you expected to happen und what actually happended, noone is likely to be able to help you.
I run " rosinstall ~/home/fuerte_workspace/sandbox/desired-topo-nav-location http://www.ros.org/rosinstalls/extensions/topological_navigation-diamondback.rosinstall /opt/ros/fuerte/stacks". After that, the desired-topo-nav-location is null. There is nothing in it.
It seems the corresponding code repositories do not exist anymore. Moreover those packages seemed to have last worked in diamondback, so maybe they wouldn't even work in fuerte even if you could find a copy of those repos.
Many thanks! Sir, recently, I have make a grip map using Gmapping package and mark the grid(x,y coordinate value) which I think should be topological node. After that how to build a topological map? This problem confused me very well. Do you know some useful information about this. Thanks a lot.
I am not aware of any topological mapping component within gmapping.
