Hello community,

is there a german or international hobby community for ros available ? Students at university seems to have unlimitted resources and time, but hobby developers have other problems. I'd like to do some research in my spare freetime and like to discuss home user problems using ros. e.g. cheap and available home equipment: RaspPi+BrickPi+LegoSensors/Motors+Kinect

Suggestions welcome Christian

I suggest looking into Hackspaces or Makerspaces. Most members enjoy to code, use Linux and some of them have experience with ROS. As for students having unlimited time, and resources, some professors of universities of applied science argue that a 60 hour workweek is expected of the students, in order to barely pass all classes and graduate on time.

Dear Christian,

just for the record, answering your question from 2013... that since a couple of days we have a german speaking Forum on ROS discourse ... where you already posted the following, similar post/call on hobby/leisure ROS developers in German speaking countries: https://discourse.ros.org/t/ros2-hobby-anwender-im-deutschsprachigen-raum/13293

Hoffentlich finden sich jetzt (7 Jahre später) mehr Leute als damals... viel Erfolg!
