problem installing oppenni_kinect stack

when i run "sudo apt-get install ros-diamondback-openni-kinect", i get the following message:

Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies: ros-diamondback-openni-kinect : Depends: nite-dev but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages

Can anyone help?? Thx in advance..

Can you give us more information? Which version of ROS are you installing? What sort of system are you installing it on? Version numbers will help us, here.

I solved the problem by running

sudo aptitude install ros-diamondback-openni-kinect

It lets you choose how to resolve these dependencies.

I have the exact same problem. I installed the current version of diamondback today and tried to run "sudo apt-get install ros-diamondback-openni-kinect," which resulted in the exact same error posted above by Rorsak. I looked at "This question" posted above as well. Is there an answer for this? I am running a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04, Lucid Lynx. I have only installed the pcl_perception_addons stack so far. I tried the source based installation and that also throws errors.
