Hi,
I created this repo with an example of a custom Qt5 Application with a rviz2 RenderPanel on it. It seems like the ROS Rviz way of doing this doesn't work, so I did some modifications (in the README is more explained). Hope it helps!

EDIT: After some discussion in this issue seems like the proper solution is in this repository.
