You don't give us any information about what sort of platform you want to install on, but assuming ROS Melodic on an amd64 architecture and running Ubuntu Bionic:

please refer to wiki/install and pick the correct guide.

Make sure to use the binary installation (ie: not a source install), unless you absolutely need to.
