I've had a similar problem with roscore using the fuerte release, try downgrading to electric (that's what I've done, and it worked).

I've had a similar problem with roscore using the fuerte release, try downgrading to electric (that's what I've done, and it worked).worked) - for electric you need to have 11.04 or 11.10, because a lot of packages aren't in 12.04.

Run Have you tried running it in sudo mode.mode?
