For me it works like this: $ cd catkin_ws/src $ git clone https://github.com/frankaemika/franka_ros.git

then goto "catkin_ws/src/franka_ros" and delete all subdirectories expect "franka_description"

$ cd catkin_ws

$ catkin_make
