I just spent a few hours getting this to work, and the solution turned out to be simple. First just install the qt binding: sudo apt-get install ros-kinetic-python-qt-binding Then everything installed fine!

sudo apt-get install ros-kinetic-python-qt-binding

Then everything installed fine!
