I'll assume it's wiki/image_transport/Tutorials/ExaminingImagePublisherSubscriber that you're referring to (please always include a link when referring to tutorials, guides or other online resources).

Can you tell us what you expect to happen?

The node created in that tutorial (my_publisher) should only publish the image you specify. It does not produce any terminal output, open windows or anything else.

Can the subscriber subscribe to the topic and display the message? If it can, it would seem things are working correctly.
