I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and whenever I run

roslaunch openni_launch openni.launch

I get the error

One or more of the following nodes could not be enumerated:

Image: PrimeSense/SensorV2/5.1.0.41: Failed to set USB interface!

I'm not really sure what's causing it- so far, I have only installed openni packages on ros using

sudo apt-get install ros-hydro-openni-*

Any suggestions?

Did you install the required packages that come in the CD of the device ? If yes, than follow the answer at this link and see if the ASUS works

At this link, steps are given on how to install required drivers to make asus xtion pro live or kinect4windows to work. See that you wont get error in any step. http://answers.ros.org/question/48210/kinect-for-windows-no-device-connected/#63680 Another useful link http://answers.ros.org/question/12876/kinect-for-windows/
