Any plans to allow map plugin in rviz to save map?

Are there any plans to allow the map plugin in rivz an option to save the map?

I don't think that there's any plans for the rvia map display plugin to save maps.

It would make more sense to make a separate plugin for providing that functionality either in rviz or rqt.
