any valid, viable VNC solution for Ubuntu ?
Hi,
I installed tiger VNC, and finaly managed to have a running service, at least for a couple of secconds
- the systemd status does not give me much informations apart from the fact that it failed to launch
- I checked dmesg -wH but I dont see anything going wrong
- the xtigervnc client never worked no matter the command I use
- I had to guess that I should add -localhost no
I allowed 5901:5903:tcp in ufw
I tried using it with gdm3 and lightmd, only the later works
Retinna allows for a short session, then the server becomes unavailable
- are there any logs ?
- is there an official installation tutorial ?
thanks for your help
thanks

This is a ROS support forum, not a generic Ubuntu one. Please repost at a more suitable venue.

so nobody in the ROS community has some preference nor tips nor favorite method to share ? nobody here is RDB/VNC'ing his ROS instances ? there is a reason I posted this here

that's not the reason this got closed. I would also obviously not be able to say anything about this.
It would have helped if you would have included/described those reasons in your post. As-is, it reads like something one would post on the Ubuntu Forum,
askubuntu.com
orunix.stackexchange.com
.If this is ROS and/or robotics related, I'd suggest to post on
robotics.stackexchange.com
. Make it very clear as to why it's on-topic for a robotics forum. Otherwise I would expect your post there to also be closed as off-topic.Asked by gvdhoorn on 2023-08-01 13:24:25 UTC
