Is it possible to use slam_toolbox to rebuild part of the map?

I use slamtoolbox to create my maps. Sometimes I want to modify a part of the map when the room layout is changed or when the loop closing fails. For example, I use gimp to modify an existing map. In this case, I fill in the areas I want to modify in gray. Load the modified map into slamtoolbox and let it start creating the map in the middle. Is this kind of technique possible?
