AMCL with multi machine?

So I read up about http://wiki.ros.org/ROS/Tutorials/MultipleMachines

I was wondering if it is possible to use amcl to localize for 2 robot through multi machines networking? Since I saw a post about it being possible to run amcl with 2 robot using gazebo: https://answers.ros.org/question/227728/multiple-robots-simulation-in-stage-with-amcl-navigation/
