how far is the distance so that ar_track_alvar is detected?

i have raspicamera 5 megapixel, and then how far is the distance so that artrackalvar is detected? please help me for the final project

i think the best way is to have the experiment on the actual tag, for me using April tags , it can detect the full A4 Size within 5 meters

the size of the trained image will affect the optimal distance for detection
