Hello,

I am using turtlebot2 with the Kobuki base. I was following the step by step tutorial from http://learn.turtlebot.com/2015/02/01/6/ Upon entering the command roslaunch turtlebot_bringup minimal.launch, the error

[ERROR] [1536297846.893166146]: Kobuki : malformed sub-payload detected. [239][170][EF AA 55 4D 01 0F ]

keeps coming out line after line.

No other errors appeared. i am running ubuntu16.04 and ROS kinetic.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had the same problem with my own Turtlebot 2.

I haven't found out how to fix it. The messages were a bit annoying, but they didn't seem to have any influence on the performance of the Turtlebot.

Ditto. I've had this for years and never bothered to do anything about it since it didn't effect anything. My guess is you just need to update the firmware but I'm too lazy for it.

Got the same issue in 2020, but really hope to know how to resolve the problem. Skip the error message from robot doesn't sound a good idea.
