Nothing happens when I rosrun controller_manager list

I am trying to figure out why my robot isn't moving in gazebo. I am using ros_control similarly as in rrbot example. When I use

rosrun controllermanager controllermanager list

nothing happens, no matter how much I wait.

rosservice list | grep controller_manager

gives me good results
