Start with costmap_2d

Hello friends, looking for some tutorials from where i can create a simple occupancy grid map from pointclouds i.e. conversion of sensormsgs/pointcloud2 to navmsgs/occupancygrid. I found costmap_2d can be useful but don't know how to use it.

I am also looking for the answer to same question. I have PointCloud2 source but by costmap is empty.
