User Guide for Gazebo Simulator

Hi everyone !!

I am new to the Gazebo Simulator. I am using the latest version that is Gazebo 5.0.1. I want to learn this simulator but I am not able to find a user guide for it. I tried tutorials. They are good but they do not give much details about introducing someting like what is joint, how many types of joints does gazebo support, etc. So I need a user guide or any documentation which tells everything in details. I would be really grateful !

Have you checked the main gazebosim.org site?

yes you are right but for eg. in tutorials when they taught to build a mobile robot, they wrote a code in which they mentioned revolute joints but they did not mention what are the other joints, what is syntax for them, etc

For this in particular I think you want to check the sdformat site. For joints, see Specification/Joints.

Yes ! but they only provide the tutorials. There is no user guide available.

Everything you'll need to know about Gazebo is in the tutorials. There is no separate user's guide, but you'll find some of the tutorial pages read like a user's guide.
